Furthermore, legislation may provide that an indicative referendum be held on a specific subject. Any person who is eligible to vote in a general election may vote in a referendum.
Who Can Vote?
In order to vote in a national referendum, a person must be eligible to vote in a general election and be entered in the electoral register.
People resident in the Faroe Islands or Greenland are not, however, eligible to vote in a referendum on EU issues because the Faroe Islands and Greenland are not members of the EU.
